On the boat, offshore in the Gulf of Mexico

Best part about your job at PTS?
I know this sounds clichĆ©ā€™, but the people are probably the best part about working at PTS. I can see the passion everyone has for doing what is right.Ā  I feel most people here have the same feeling I doā€¦.we are building products that save peopleā€™s lives.

Secret Talent?
I am a gear head. I rebuilt my first boat motor from the ground up, when I was 16 years old.

Favorite part about working at PTS?
Making everlasting changes in the lives of people. Also, laughing, as we have had some major adversity here, and everyone seems to want to help each other laugh. Laughter is good for your heart, soul, & mind.

One thing you canā€™t resist?
Since I was about 4-5 years old, I always wanted to be on the water, in a boat. Big boats, little boats, cruise ships,.it does not matter. I cannot resist getting out on the water. I am fortunate to be able to be on the water a lot, and it never gets old. I learn something every time.

Best advice you have ever been given?
My dad gave me some of the best advice & I canā€™t just name one soā€¦.., ā€œTreat others the way you want them to treat you.ā€ ā€œYou put your pants on the same way everyone does, one leg at a time.ā€ ā€œYou never ask anyone to do anything that you 1. Wonā€™t do, 2. Havenā€™t done, or 3. Will do again.ā€ If you ask my kidsā€¦ā€¦They would say I preach to them about being on timeā€¦..ā€If you are on timeā€¦.you are late. If you are early, you are on timeā€.

The Move from Zionsville Road to Anson Boulevard

It is Just Movingā€¦. It is Simpleā€¦. Right? Not So Much

As a medical device company that transacts in countries across the globe and is governed by many regulatory agencies, moving is not as simple as calling a local moving company and paying them to pack up everything and move 10 miles from our office on Zionsville Road to our headquarters in Whitestown, Indiana. Addresses are important. Registrations are important. Validation is important. Labeling is important. There is A LOT to consider, plan and coordinate, which is exactly what our teams have been doing for the last 3 years.

The move has required that any new equipment (even it is a duplicate of existing equipment) be qualified and validated.Ā  Major existing equipment that was moved also needed to be re-qualified and/or re-validated.

From a regulatory standpoint, the move required us to re-register products in many countries. In the case of the Chinese re-registrations, we had to run three lots of product, and submit test data.Ā  The Regulatory Affairs team has been busy (and will continue to be busy) re-registering products in over 30 countries.

And then there are documentsā€¦. Moving thousands of controlled documents that had to be signed and routed and stored in our new location has been no small feat.

But, PTS family, we are now in the home stretch, the fourth quarter, the ninth inning, the third period.Ā  Our current plan is to be completely moved out of our Zionsville Road location by September 1st.

According to Lisa Sutton, Director of Operations, ā€œThe move started with a vision almost 3 years ago. Even though the distance was a short 10 miles, the complexity of relocating a medical device manufacturing operation can make or break a company. The move team, with the support of the Executive Team, is what made this move successful. I could not be prouder of the team, the collaboration, and the results. In August we will finally all be back together under one roof as we move the remaining operations and close the doors at Zionsville Road. The PTS story may have started there but will continue into the future in Whitestown.ā€
